So, what is Saligia? First and foremost, it is not a typical book of "how to" magic routines. It is an attempt to get magicians to look at literature and find opportunities to develop bizarre routines. Some great ideas and themes in bizarre magic come from literature. Secondly, this is also a way for me to challenge myself with a different approach to writing. This is a series of stories, with suggestions at the end for how bizarre routines could be applied to the stories.
Like the pulp serial stories of the past, each story covers the further exploits of my protagonist Inspector Andrew Wickensham. There are a total of eight stories, each revolving around a theme of a deadly sin. This is a very different approach and hopefully one that will inspire you to not only create your own routines, but to think creatively about literature and the ability for it to provide inspiration.
